@ Everett Middle School: Everett and Horace Mann Middle schools will host a collaborative event at Everett from 1 p.m.-3 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 17, with keynote speaker Rodney Santos, Dean of Student Affairs at San Francisco City College. @ The Darkroom: Fresh from their comedy tour this past July, San Francisco comedians Paco Romane and Brett Duggan return this Fall, with the original sketch comedy production TESTIGIGGLE, at The Darkroom Theater. From history lessons by a war loving father, to a confused mail room clerk, Testigiggle pays tribute to the comedy of the every day and explores the ridiculousness of modern life while focusing on the comedy of miscommunication. @ ODC Theater: ODC Theater Presents Dandelion Dancetheater’s MUTT: A dance-play where live folk and blues, piercing physicality and dreamlike story-telling collide to examine the identity and afterlife of a young girl. This is the story of Miyo, a mixed-race girl born in an internment camp during WWII to a Japanese American internee and a Caucasian prison guard from Texas. With narration in both Japanese and English, kimonos and cowboy boots fuse in this surreal expression of an afterlife. Contains nudity. $18 General/ $15 Seniors/Students

@ Galería de la Raza: Some of the Bay Area's best comedians are coming together for a monthly series of stand up comedy shows at the historic Galería de la Raza. @ Creativity Explored: “Science” Fiction features a fantastical array of renderings by Creativity Explored studio artists depicting characters, landscapes, and vehicles from the world of science fiction TV, film, and pulp fiction, as well as original conceptions of futuristic places and beings.  In this lively show, images of iconic characters such as the Robotrix, from Metropolis, Robbie the Robot, C3PO, Darth Vader, General Ursus, and Mr. Spock and the crew of the Enterprise will populate the gallery at Creativity Explored, while renderings of scenes from classic films and TV shows further advance the science fiction theme. W/ SFBC: The San Francisco Bicycle Coalition (SFBC) wants to help more people substitute one short car trip with a bicycle trip just one day a week. So, encourage a friend or co-worker to pedal with you to an SFBC Energizer Station on Gas-Free Fridays and fuel up on coffee and snacks. In Potrero Hill: The Potrero Hill Festival returns to the hill with a full day of fun, food, music and community activities planned.
