“Sorry, Thanks” and “Troupers: The SF Mime Troupe” at the 32nd Mill Valley Film Festival

The 32nd annual Mill Valley Film Festival runs Oct. 8 to 18 in Mill Valley and San Rafael, and this year features 220 films from 25 countries, including feature films, shorts, and documentaries. This year the festival is hosting major tributes to Uma Thurman, Clive Owen, and Woody Harrelson, all of whom will appear in person.
The new feature film by Dia Sokol, Sorry, Thanks, was filmed entirely in the Mission, and stars Wiley Wiggins and Kenya Miles. Young aspiring artist Max (Wiggins) meets Kira (Miles) who is trying to establish herself in the tough Mission art scene. Sokol, producer of film festival hits Mutual Appreciation and Nights and Weekend, weaves a tale of young people on the verge of greatness. Sorry, Thanks will screen Sunday, Oct. 11 at pm at the Sequoia Theater and Monday, Oct. 12 at 9:30 pm at Rafael Film Center.
Troupers, the 1989 documentary on the SF Mime Troupe, filmed in and around the Mission, will screen Fri., Oct. 16 at 7:30 pm at 142 Throckmorton in Mill Valley.
