The Potrero Hill Festival returns to the hill with a full day of fun, food, music and community activities planned. “Science” Fiction features a fantastical array of renderings by Creativity Explored studio artists depicting characters, landscapes, and vehicles from the world of science fiction TV, film, and pulp fiction, as well as original conceptions of futuristic places and beings.  In this lively show, images of iconic characters such as the Robotrix, from Metropolis, Robbie the Robot, C3PO, Darth Vader, General Ursus, and Mr. Spock and the crew of the Enterprise will populate the gallery at Creativity Explored, while renderings of scenes from classic films and TV shows further advance the science fiction theme. Opening reception: Oct. 8, 7–9 p.m. Guests are encouraged to wear science fiction attire to the reception. Exhibition Dates and Times: Oct. 8–Nov. 21. Intersection for the Arts proudly presents One Day: A Collective Narrative of Tehran, a project organized by San Francisco-based artist Taraneh Hemami and Tehran-based artist Ghazaleh Hedayat of modern day Tehran, Iran. Featuring the work of eight artists living in Tehran - Nima Alizadeh, Saba Alizadeh, Mohammad Ghazali, Ghazaleh Hedayat, Abbas Kowsari, Mehran Mohajer, Neda Rezavipour, and Homayoun Sirizi - alongside new work by San Francisco-based artist Taraneh Hemami, this exhibition compiles a collective narrative of everyday Tehran, demystifying life in a country that has been misunderstood and maligned for decades.
