Ecohome Improvement Now Offers ‘Ecohome Cabinetry’
Nov 08, 2006
Going green and creating a healthy home and custom green kitchen was never so convenient thanks to the experts at Ecohome Improvement, a leading provider of stylish, ecological, healthy home improvement products based in Berkeley, California. Ecohome Improvement recently added Ecohome Cabinetry, its own line of custom-crafted eco-cabinetry to its list of top-quality, locally-made products and services.
“This means that anyone planning a kitchen remodel can now design a complete green kitchen using custom-made cabinetry that is as stylish as it is environmentally friendly,” said Taja di Leonardi, founder and managing partner of Ecohome Improvement, which celebrates one year as a foremost sustainable green business, and is the only store of its kind in the area. “What is more, we offer a wide range of flooring, countertops, and tiles that stand out for their beauty, quality and environmental attributes.”
Ecohome Cabinetry comes in a range of finish materials including bamboo and woods certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), an independent auditing organization created to manage and protect the world’s forests. The cabinet casing is constructed using PureBond, a urea-formaldehyde free and FSC-certified hardwood plywood panel by Columbia Forest Products. All stains, finishes and paints used in the cabinetry are low in VOC levels and are free of formaldehyde.
The demand for custom environmental and healthy home cabinetry is increasing and “very few manufacturers offer solutions that meet the market demand for options that are free of VOCs, and urea-formaldehyde,” she explained. “We are very excited to bring to market the Ecohome Cabinetry collection which represents a synthesis of design, quality fabrication, sustainably harvested materials and healthy home options.” And, with their trained cabinetry designers and unique integrated design-to-machine-cut fabrication process which ensure fast turnaround and affordable prices, its never been easier to go green!
Di Leonardi said they purchase all materials from the surrounding area and have the cabinets constructed locally to support the Bay Area business community, including delivery of the finished cabinets using a bio-diesel truck.
Coming up this weekend, Ecohome Improvement will host a booth – #743 in the Green Building Section – at the fifth annual San Francisco Green Festival November 10 to 12. Thousands of people will attend the three-day festival featuring inspirational speakers, unique events and educational workshops. Di Leonardi and Virginia Young of Yolo Colorhouse will lead a discussion at the festival called “Entrepreneurship and Green Building” on Friday, November 10 at 5 PM.
