If you're not exercising because you can't fit a fitness class into your schedule, can't afford to join a gym, or don't like to exercise alone, here's the solution to your excuses: Take the Shape up San Francisco Challenge beginning Oct. 4.
Moving Forward with Universal Healthcare Plan

San Francisco is the first city in the nation to provide universal healthcare access to the uninsured. My office has received a variety of questions regarding San Francisco's new Healthcare Access Plan (HAP). Below are responses to some of the inquiries we have received about the plan, how we intend to implement it and its effect on your healthcare. The HAP is expected to begin implementation July 2007.
Kids get free lunch all summer long

The health and physical well being of our city's youth has always been a top priority of my administration. In keeping with this goal, I am pleased to announce that the San Francisco's Free Summer Lunch program is back again to offers delicious new food choices and an expanded education component to the city's youth. The program kicked off in late June and has 140 sites in every corner of the City.

Many of us who take to the streets of San Francisco have a harrowing tale to tell that involves potholes or bumpy roads. Throughout the 49-square miles that define this storied City, we have 12,000 city-maintained streets with more than 900 miles of roadway to care for.
